Steve Kirkpatrick
PGA Professional
Owner, Steve Kirkpatrick has been a Class A PGA Professional since 1989. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology. Steve has 35 years of experience in the golf equipment business and has served in the following positions.
- 1987 – 1992 Assistant Golf Professional Landings Golf Club Warner Robins, Georgia
- 1992 – 1994 Head Professional Barrington Hall Golf Club Macon, Georgia
- 1994 – 2004 Head Professional Summit Country Club Owensboro, Kentucky
- 2005 – 2010 Regional Training Professional Dick’s Sporting Goods
- 2010 – 2020 Owner Golf Rx Mt. Juliet, Tennessee
Steve has earned the respect of his peers as an accomplished player, instructor, club fitter and club repair expert. He was the 1992 Teacher of the Year in the Georgia PGA Central Chapter. In 2007 he was medalist at regional qualifying in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. earning a spot in the Champion’s Tour Dick’s Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, New York.
Steve opened Golf Rx in 2010 to provide customers with a full-service indoor golf center offering PGA instruction, professionally custom fit golf equipment and club repair services. In 2013 he was named to the World’s Top 100 Club Fitters. In 2017 Golf Rx was named to the Golf Digest Top 100 Clubfitters List as a Certified Club Fitting Facility. During Steve’s tenure as owner of Golf Rx he earned the respect and appreciation of his knowledge and expertise from the hundreds of customers he served.
Steve has been featured in PGA Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Tee Times Magazine, and has written and starred in two TV golf instruction programs. He has written three instructional books, The Dimpled Sphere, Why Bad Swings Happen to Good People and The Pocket Caddy.
Steve is a graduate of the Mitchell Golf Institute and the Maltby Club Repair Academy. He spent 5 years training PGA Professionals in club repair and club fitting as a Regional Training Professional for Dick’s Sporting Goods. Steve served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia PGA Sections and Kentucky PGA Sections.
Steve sold Golf Rx in September of 2020. His priority at Kirkpatrick Golf is to continue his tradition of providing professional instruction and excellent club repair and club fitting services.
